Terms of use
The terms of reading Ponder.
Last updated 28 October 2026
Ponder is free to read. Use it for yourself, keep your account to yourself, and enjoy the editions. They are written for curiosity, not as professional advice. If something goes wrong, write to us and we will put it right.
Who we are
Ponder is published by Bukhari Ventures Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (“we”, “us”). These terms are an agreement between you and us. By creating an account or using Ponder, you accept them. Our privacy policy explains how we look after your data.
Your account
- You must be 13 or over to have an account.
- Your account is for you alone. Please give your real first name and date of birth, and keep access to your email, Apple or Google account safe: whoever controls it can sign in to Ponder.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings, then Delete my account.
Using Ponder
You may read Ponder for your own, personal use. Please don’t:
- copy, republish or sell editions, or use them to train or feed automated systems;
- try to reach other readers’ data, overload our services, or get round the way Ponder works (for example, to unlock editions early by tampering with the app);
- make accounts automatically or in someone else’s name, or use Ponder to break the law.
If an account is used in these ways, we may suspend or close it. We will tell you why, unless the law stops us.
Our editions
The editions, their words, pictures and design belong to Bukhari Ventures Ltd. Each quotation belongs to its author and, where it is translated, its translator; they are credited in the edition and on its Sources page.
You are welcome to share what Ponder lets you share: a gift link, a line as a card, or today’s line as a wallpaper, for your own and your friends’ enjoyment.
For curiosity, not advice
Each edition explains real research about how people think, choose and remember. We check every figure against its source, but research changes, and an edition is a short, general account written for interest. It is not medical, psychological, financial or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.
Gifts and emails
When you send a gift, you choose who receives it, and your name and note travel with it. Please only send gifts to people you know. We email you sign-in codes when you ask for them, and news only if you choose to hear from us; you can stop news at any time in Settings or from any email.
Changes to Ponder
Ponder is free today. We may improve, change or retire features and editions over time. If we ever introduce something paid, it will be optional and clearly explained before you pay anything.
Our responsibility to you
We work hard to keep Ponder available and your reading safe, but we can’t promise it will always be free of faults or interruptions. Ponder is provided free of charge, so, as far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses or for losses that were not foreseeable.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. If you are a consumer, you keep all your legal rights.
Apple and Google
If you downloaded Ponder from the App Store or Google Play, their own terms also apply to the download. These terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google: we, not they, are responsible for Ponder, its support and any claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms as a third party.
The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, we will update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will tell you in the app first.
